Integrate EnGine into your application to print bar codes, labels, tickets and forms. Templates are created in minutes, data is sourced from your database or text file and EnGine will print the formatted results on any printer using Windows drivers.
- Design a layout template using EnSign or EnLabel
- Source data from your application using the template/data connectivity wizard
- EnGine will merge your data with the template and control printing tasks
EnGine operates in two modes:
Mode 1: Direct from an application.
- Application creates a data file then runs EnGine with parameters to specify the template and number of labels to print.
- EnGine takes the data and inserts into ‘placeholders’ in the layout template.
- The labels are printed.
- EnGine writes a log file then terminates.
Mode 2: ‘FileWatch’ mode.
- EnGine is started and waits for the data to be updated in a specific file.
- Application writes to the data file.
- EnGine springs into action, extracts all the data and merges it with the template to produce labels.
- EnGine writes a log file to indicate success then goes back to waiting for fresh data.
Included with EnGine, is EnView - an OCX control for printing and on-screen preview of template layouts. Like EnGine, the EnView component will enable you to integrate printing into your application and also allows you to embed an on-screen preview of template layouts within your own applications.
